Cumberland River Behavioral Health is a nonprofit community mental health center whose mission is to ensure all members of our community an opportunity to achieve their highest potential for living satisfying, productive, and valued lives.

We are dedicated to planning and providing quality mental health, developmental and intellectual disabilities, and substance use services in our eight county service area, including Bell, Clay, Harlan, Jackson, Knox, Laurel, Rockcastle, and Whitley counties.

CRBH encourages individuals to be active participants, along with family and other interested supporters, in the development of their recovery goals based on the individual needs of each person. Our services are confidential, sensitive to cultural needs and differences, and payment is based on ability to pay.

CRBH began operation in 1966.  We received Joint Commission accreditation in 1977, being the first mental health center in Kentucky to receive a full two year accreditation. Today, we employ over 700 dedicated and caring staff at our many service locations, as well as in each of the area school districts.

We invite you to contact the office nearest you for an appointment. If you are experiencing a crisis, you may walk in to any of our outpatient offices for emergency assessment.

ASL Interpreter services are arranged and available for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.  Specific language interpreting accommodations are reviewed and assessed on an individual basis.
